April 30, 2004europa!Just a note to let all interested parties out there know that I am doing fine and loving life out here in Europa. My talks at CHI2004 went really well and catching up and going out with the other conference goers was a blast. Vienna is an amazing city, like the best of Germany and the best of Paris wrapped into one (and with a little Italian influence mixed in as well). And I have yet to tire of beer and sausages. Tomorrow we're heading out to Prague, which is also joining the EU tomorrow. Should make for some good times, though my German is almost passing while my Czech is non-existant. I was at CHI2004 too and was my first time in Vienna as well. Yes, it's strange how Vienna has some similarities with Italy. I noted this too but I thought it was a vision havily biased by the fact that I'm italian. Nice to see that it is not just my impression. You are right: beer and sausages were great. Vienna is beautiful, I wish I had more time to stay around. I just went through parks Friday morning and it was great. Oh...nice talk! I saw it.
