A team of Rice University chemists apparently know how to have fun with their trade: making molecules shaped like people. In their Journal of Organic Chemistry article, Synthesis of Anthropomorphic Molecules: The NanoPutians, they describe how to create these chemical characters, and Nature describes their usefulness as a teaching tool for kids.
